About Dubai | Where is Dubai located | Is Dubai considered to be a nation – Dubai City | Photograph Courtesy of Unleash.com To begin, Dubai is not a sovereign nation but rather a city and the capital of one of the seven Emirates that together form the country known as the United Arab Emirates (UAE), which is where Dubai is located. To be more specific, the city of Dubai may be found inside the Emirate of Dubai. It is interesting to note that the name of the modern metropolitan metropolis as well as the name of the Emirate that hosts the city are both spelled Dubai. To put it another way, Dubai is a city that is located inside the Emirate of Dubai; the Emirate of Dubai is a state that is located within the UAE; and the UAE is either a Middle Eastern or West Asian country.
The Emirate of Dubai is the most populous and the second largest emirate in the United Arab Emirates. The total area of the Emirate of Dubai is approximately 3885 km 2, while the area of Dubai municipal is only approximately 35 km 2.
This does not include Dubai’s man-made islands, such as the Waterfront, the three Palm islands, the World, the Universe, and Dubailand, as well as the many other construction projects that are currently under way in the desert. Dubai’s coordinates are 25.2048 degrees north and 55.2708 degrees east, and it is surrounded on all sides by the emirate of Abu Dhabi to the south and west, and by the emirate of Sharjah to the east and northeast.
